Breakout Choices 2020

These are the Breakouts that are scheduled to occur at MathPath 2020. To see the schedule, CLICK HERE. For a catalog type description of the various breakouts, CLICK HERE. The descriptions are ordered first by week, and second by the last name of the instructor.

Just before each week we give the students a Show and Tell about the coming courses, on which basis they indicate their preferences.

Students are not allowed to jump the gun and make requests before the weekly Show and Tell. While we do not discourage MathPathers from discussing their options with their parents in advance, we encourage MathPath students to follow their own minds when making a selection after they have heard what is available at the Show and Tell.

Courses are rated 1-star through 4-star. The star system roughly indicates how much background a student will need coming into the course. Having a higher star-rating doesn't make mathematics better. Students should sign up for what sounds most interesting to them, so long as they feel they have the needed background. If a 1-star course sounds really interesting, go for it! Material in a 1-star course can be challenging, it just will be all brand new and not rely on students knowing anything specific coming into the course.
