Plenaries for 2018

8:30 am, Tues-Sat 

  There are history plenaries throughout the program, by Glen (Prof Van
  	Brummelen) for the first two weeks, covering up through medieval
  	Islamic mathematics, followed by Prof K (Dominic Klyve) in week 3, 
  	then Dr Shell (Amy Shell-Gellasch) in week 4. There was also one
  	lecture in week 3 by Prof D (Matt DeLong).


10:45 am, Tues-Sat 

  The main mathematics plenary of the day. 

  Week 1: Dr Sam Vandervelde, Proof School, San Francisco, will present
          the kick-off lecture, I'm Continuously Amazed, on Monday, July 2.

          From Tuesday, July 3 to Friday, July 6, Dr Vandervelde will
          continue with a series of talks:
               Prickly Primes,
               Euler Strikes Again, 
               Neutron Graphs, and
               The Game of Espionage.
               
          Sat July 7:    Roger Nelsen, Lewis and Clark College
                         Visual Number Theory


  Week 2: A variety of speakers:

          Tue July 10:   David Pengelley, New Mexico State University
                         All Tangled Up and Searching for the Beauty of Symmetry

          Wed July 11:   Liz Stanhope, Lewis and Clark College
                         Can you hear the shape of a drum?

          Thu July 12:   Jane Butterfield, University of Victoria
                         Eulerian Embroidery and Knitted Codes

          Fri July 13:   David Clark, Grand Valley State University
                         Anti-SET

          Sat July 14:   David Clark, Grand Valley State University
                         The Anti-Games Strike Back
          


  Week 3: From Tuesday, July 17, to Saturday, July 21, Prof Paul Zeitz,
          University of San Francisco, will be offering a series of talks
          on Probability and Random Walks.


  Week 4: A variety of speakers:

2:45 pm, Tues-Fri 

	 Writing and Proof mini-plenaries (30 minutes) by Prof D (Matt DeLong)
	 in weeks 1-3 and Mr M (Prof Stephen Maurer) in week 4, mostly using
